Today, people continue to need HOPE in the midst of problems. Dell director of Today's Blessing Ministry, writes, teaches and preaches to encourage and enable others. HOPE is our assurance that God will finish all He has started.
Anger? Joy? Which guides your life?
Sin...unconfessed sin...keeps us from truly interacting with God. The longer we continue in our sin, without repenting, the longer we walk under a hot, desert sun.
If you've ever lived in the desert, you know that the hotter the day, the more you seek a place of shade; a cool place to rest.
Psalm 91:1 says, He that dwelleth in the secret of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Oh, those are beautiful words! It speaks of shade from the broiling sun. Yes! The day we stop running from God and realize that his goodness extends even to us, we discover that he shelters us in His shadow.
That realization can bring great joy. And listen to this beautiful verse from Luke 15: I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth.... Do you hear that? Our repentence brings joy to us, and also to heaven.
Let's repent of our sin, draw close to God and experience that joy.

Let my teaching drop as the rain, my speech distill as the dew, as raindrops on the tender herb, and as showers on the grass. For I proclaim the name of the Lord: Ascribe greatness to our God. (Deuteronomy 32:2-3 NKJV)

We are in Oregon for a few months. They call us "Sun Birds." The description fits those who live in the southern part of America where the sun shines relentlessly through the summer months. A Sun Bird leaves the sun-baked desert and heads to a cooler climate.
So here we are. But, we aren't on vacation. Gil ministers at the county jail on Sunday mornings from 7 to 9, and on Monday from 9 am to 11 am. He carries Celebrate Recovery to inmates, and brings teaching and prayer inside.
Dell fills the pulpit once a month at our home church and is part of the prayer team at the church, and also at Celebrate Recovery. Fulfilling work.
God is blessing and moving in our lives.
May you be blessed as you work and play this summer.
Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4 (NIV)
